An estimated 20,000 car and racing aficionados will descend upon the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance this October 24 through November 2.  Situated along the picturesque Georgia and South Carolina coastlines, this year’s festivities will honor Jaguar, celebrate Mustang’s 50th, Maserati’s 100th anniversaries, and feature unique auto collections. Entering its 14th year, the festival boasts the new exhibit “Life,” that will display cars owned by famous individuals, including the limousine built for Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee trip through New Zealand.

Whether a collector or speed enthusiast, guests will revel in this year’s lineup of motor-centric events at the festival’s two locations: Savannah, Georgia (Oct. 24 – 26) and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina (Nov. 1 & 2). The festival is one of America’s largest auto and motorsports enthusiasts’ event weeks. Both locales offer luxurious Westin accommodations adjacent to events and convenient to surrounding attractions. Gourmet cuisine, jewelry, and fashion displays will round out the festival.

There’s no more fitting a locale than Savannah to climb into a luxury model with a professional driver and take laps in a Porsche, Jaguar, BMW or Lotus on the Grand Prize of America road course located on the property of The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. Savannah is the birthplace of Grand Prix racing and features an upscale performance track only open to spectators for the Motoring Festival & Concours d’ Elegance event.

Individuals will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for rides alongside celebrities, including Bobby Rahal and Hurley Haywood. “We brought racing back to Savannah from the early 1900s when it began. Even pre-WWII cars come out to the track for the event,” said Carolyn Vanagel, President, Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours.

Twenty auto clubs will collectively display 175 cars at the Car Club Jamboree on Saturday, November 1st at the Port Royal Golf Club in Hilton Head. Highlighted cars will include Porsches, Corvettes, Mercedes and Jaguars.

Hilton Head Island also hosts the main event—the Concours d’Elegance—on November 2nd at the Port Royal Golf Club. This year’s Concours features some of the top Jaguars in the country, all pre-1974. “This is one of the few Concours events that offer walking tours of certain classes of cars. Ian Callum, Design Director for Jaguar cars, will give a walking tour of Jaguar,” noted Vanagel. Other informational walking tours will include Mustang, English sports cars, and Maserati.
