CITY SANCTUARY
With the help of designer Maura O’Malley, a pied-a-terre in the Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences, One Dalton Street, Boston, turns into a chic, stylish residence.
Boston native and based interior designer Maura O’Malley’s passion stems from her desire to re-conceptualize a space’s functionality. Inspired by how design improves people’s lives, Maura collaborates with her clients to create timeless spaces that reflect their individual and unique personalities. Her recent collaboration with her clients in the tallest residential building in New England, the Four Season One Dalton, perfectly reflects her creative ethos.
Maura’s clients tasked her with creating a timeless pied-a-terre distinct from their primary residence in Southern New England. “My vision was an urban sanctuary: simultaneously intimate and luxe, serene and energized - perfect for a quiet night together or entertaining friends and family,” explains Maura.
Framed by One Dalton’s signature rounded edges and eye-catching, floor-to-ceiling windows, the great room is anchored by a marble fireplace surround and a bespoke wood paneled wall with open shelving for those accouterments that you want to display and concealed storage for those that you choose not to creates the calming effect Maura and her clients were in search of. Maura created multiple seating zones in the room to celebrate the fantastic views and the fine art collection from the renowned Boston gallery, Jules Place. Completing the space are custom sheer draperies by Designer Draperies of Boston. Acting as a retreat within a sanctuary, the two bedrooms showcase custom-designed king beds by MOI fabricated by Partners in Design.
