When I think of a collector car, I imagine a 100-point, pure muscle purring across the block, building excitement among veteran and new collectors alike. Auction paddles are preparing to be raised at a drop of a dime. Every nerve in your body and brain electrified as you anxiously await to hear going once, going twice, sold. In my world, that car is a 1969 Supercharge Camaro cranking out over 470 horsepower, not a zero horsepower toy car that will fit in the palm of my hand. That is until now, when a recent find by America’s Toy Scout, Joel Magee proved that a Hot Wheels car could be valued at over $100,000.

Before you pull out that Hot Wheels carrier case, this is no typical car. The Enamel White Prototype Custom Camaro Redline Hot Wheels car was one of 16 models produced by Mattel in 1968. The enamel white was used by designers on all new cars to check for imperfections. Few were ever known to have mistakenly made their way into packaging and to retailers, making finding one extremely rare and finding one in good condition is akin to a miracle. Thought to be the only one in existence, the collectible is the third rarest Hot Wheels car in the world alongside The Beach Bomb and the Olds 442.

“I’ve collected toys forever, and this Hot Wheels Camaro is the Holy Grail of collectibles. I am beyond excited to have found it to add to my vast collection. This car is so extremely rare that there is only one known example, which is this one. Imagine something that originally sold for 59 cents now being worth upwards of $100,000! Wow,” exclaims Joel Magee!
