Raffles London at The OWO, which opened just last September, boasts one of the capital’s greatest art collections. From its public spaces to its private guestrooms, TM Lighting was tasked with using the TM SlimLight Pro to accentuate a four-part artistic narrative of innovation and craft. The objective of the commissioning process was to support London-based artists at every stage of their career, from emerging talents like Priya Sundaravalli, to more established names like Rana Begum. Guests at the Old War Office may therefore admire an array of eclectic art while enjoying its lavish Richmond interiors.

A new trend is emerging in London’s luxury hospitality scene—hotels seamlessly blending art and architecture to offer experiences akin to the city’s prestigious galleries. No longer just places to stay, these hotels have evolved into immersive spaces where design and art merge in perfect harmony, with TM Lighting playing a crucial role in highlighting this connection. As many of London’s top hotels seek to furnish their interiors with world-class artworks, they increasingly rely on specialists like TM Lighting to ensure their collections are displayed with the same meticulous care found at the Victoria & Albert Museum or the Tate.

TM Lighting collaborates with leading curators, gallerists, and designers to enhance each hotel’s unique environment, transforming ordinary spaces into living galleries. With experience lighting key artworks at iconic venues such as the Wallace Collection, Blenheim Palace, and Frieze London, TM Lighting brings a wealth of expertise to these luxury hotels. Whether illuminating a Hockney in a refined hallway or showcasing a Canaletto in a stylish cocktail bar, they ensure every piece is presented in its best light. Their comprehensive service, from initial consultation to final installation, helps create a cultural experience that invites guests to enjoy London’s rich artistic heritage within the walls of these premier hotels.

At Raffles London at The OWO, this balance of form and function is on full display. TM Lighting’s SlimLight Pro enhances a four-part artistic narrative, featuring works by London-based artists like Priya Sundaravalli and Rana Begum. Integrated into Richmond-designed interiors, each piece reflects innovation and craftsmanship, offering guests a gallery-like experience throughout the space.

The Londoner
38 Leicester Square, London, WC2H

Situated in Leicester Square, The Londoner is one of the capital’s leading ‘super boutique’ hotels. Art is crucial to the interplay of its diverse interiors, with its collection including landmark pieces by many revolutionary British artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. On the staircase pictured below, Inverse Lighting and design studio Yabu Pushelberg used TM SlimLight Pro Picture Lights to strikingly illuminate works by Antony Gormley, Julian Opie, Idris Khan, and Tim Walker, which draw guests up and into the hotel.

Similarly, The Londoner, hailed as one of the city’s leading ‘super boutique’ hotels, showcases the intricate relationship between art and design. With works by British artists like Antony Gormley and Idris Khan, strategically placed lighting elevates these pieces into the architectural narrative, drawing visitors into a dynamic interplay of light, texture, and form.

Beaverbrook Town House offers a more intimate interpretation of this relationship. In its 14 suites, 19th-century woodblock prints and antique theatre posters are framed by the warm glow of TM Lighting. The collaboration between lighting designer Hugo Fleming and Nicola Harding & Co. ensures each piece complements the scale and texture of the space, fostering a sense of intimacy and reflection.

The Dorchester is a British landmark, the inside of which is adorned with an incredible collection of British landscapes by the likes of Sophie Coryndon and Christian Furr. A walk through this hotel is like a stroll through the British countryside, and TM Lighting accordingly ensured that its interiors – designed by Martin Brudnizki – are lit in an elegant and naturalistic way. Behind the counter in the Vesper Bar pictured above, TM Lighting introduced the TM Solo Picture Light to illuminate the circular artwork on display, and to enhance the overall atmosphere of this timeless space, where guests may enjoy their artistic surroundings with a martini in hand.

The Dorchester, a British landmark, transforms its interiors into an art walk through the English countryside. Landscapes by Sophie Coryndon and Christian Furr are carefully lit to evoke a naturalistic setting within the architectural grandeur. The use of TM Solo Picture Lights in spaces like the Vesper Bar creates an elegant atmosphere where guests can contemplate the art as part of the timeless design.

According to TM Lighting co-founder Andrew Molyneux, “London’s luxury hotels are becoming must-visit art destinations that rival the city’s foremost galleries. Our expertise allows us to showcase each hotel’s collection with the same attention to colour and form as a world-class museum.”

These boutique hotels are reshaping hospitality, turning spaces into cultural destinations where art is thoughtfully integrated into the architecture. Far from mere decoration, the artworks play a vital role in elevating the spatial experience, transforming each hotel into a living gallery.
