STONE
IN MOTION
Ali Budd redefines the language of tile through movement, material, and modern glamour.

In luxury interiors, surfaces are no longer static. They are expressive, dimensional, and increasingly central to how a space is experienced. With the launch of her newest collaboration with Artistic Tile, interior designer Ali Budd continues to push that evolution forward, transforming natural stone into a medium of movement, rhythm, and modern glamour.
Building on the success of two previous collaborations, this third collection introduces three new designs—Liora, Sculpta, and Varo—each exploring the interplay between pattern, material, and form. The result is a series of mosaics that feel less like finishes and more like architectural elements, designed to shape how light travels across a surface and how a room is perceived as a whole.

Budd’s signature aesthetic is immediately recognizable. There is a sense of fluidity in the compositions, a deliberate avoidance of rigidity that allows each design to feel both structured and organic. Lines bend, repeat, and shift in subtle ways, creating a visual rhythm that changes depending on perspective and light.
“Stone has a natural energy to it,” Budd notes. “What interested me in this collection was how to enhance that movement rather than contain it.”
That philosophy is particularly evident in Liora, where patterning creates a soft sense of flow, and in Sculpta, which leans into dimensionality and shadow. Varo, meanwhile, introduces a more graphic language, balancing bold geometry with the inherent variation of natural stone. Together, the designs form a cohesive study in contrast—precision and imperfection, structure and fluidity.

What distinguishes this collaboration, however, is not only its visual language but its adaptability. Each design is part of Artistic Tile’s “Tailored To” program, allowing designers and homeowners to modify scale, material, and color. In a market where personalization has become the ultimate luxury, this level of flexibility transforms the collection from a fixed offering into a creative framework.
It also reflects a broader shift within high-end design. Increasingly, clients are seeking spaces that feel entirely their own, where even foundational elements like tile contribute to a sense of individuality. Customization is no longer reserved for furnishings or art; it is embedded into the architecture itself.
For Budd, that ability to tailor each design is essential. “No two spaces should feel the same,” she says. “The goal is to create something that responds to the architecture and the person living within it.”
The collaboration arrives at a moment when natural materials are being reexamined through a more contemporary lens. Rather than polished uniformity, designers are embracing variation, texture, and depth—qualities that stone inherently possesses. Budd’s designs amplify those characteristics, allowing the material to remain authentic while elevating it into something distinctly modern.
In this way, the collection operates at the intersection of art and architecture. Each mosaic is not simply applied to a surface but integrated into the spatial experience, influencing how a room feels as much as how it looks.
As luxury interiors continue to evolve, collaborations like Ali Budd x Artistic Tile signal a new direction—one where surfaces are not background elements but focal points, where material becomes narrative, and where design begins at the very foundation of a space.
