DESIGN & ARCHTIECTURE

THE PRECISION OF PARTNERSHIP

Eins zu Eins is a design studio where architects and artists create limited-edition furniture with uncompromising integrity—each piece a sculptural expression of collaboration, craftsmanship, and timeless design.

In a design world that often races toward novelty and scale, Eins zu Eins moves differently—intentionally, reverently, and always in conversation with its collaborators. Founded in 2018, the German-based furniture studio is not so much a brand as it is a platform: a rare and respectful space where architects and artists are given the freedom to create uncompromising furniture objects, all produced in strictly limited editions.

The name, Eins zu Eins—German for “one to one”—is more than a nod to scale. It represents the brand’s core ethos: equal partnership. From concept to production, designers are not only credited but deeply involved in the translation of their ideas into tangible form. The result is a collection where every object holds the integrity of its original vision, down to the last dowel or dovetail.

This collaborative purity is underpinned by more than a century of craftsmanship. The brand traces its roots to Ludwig Seufert, a woodworking atelier founded in 1898 and long recognized for its high-end interior fit-outs and bespoke furnishings. This legacy of precision and respect for material now fuels a new generation of design—where ancient techniques meet contemporary form.

The Eins zu Eins collection reads like a curated design exhibition in motion—each piece authored by a distinct voice, yet bound by a shared language of clarity, discipline, and sculptural integrity.

Take the Kigumi Table by Kengo Kuma, a standout in the collection. Constructed without nails or screws, it channels the traditional Japanese art of interlocking wood joinery. Architectural and deliberate, it is as much an exploration of structural ingenuity as it is a finished object.

The Shift Leg Table by Neil Denari brings a distinctly engineered sensibility, with angled supports and precision detailing that challenge conventional balance and silhouette. Meanwhile, the Never Stop Moving Table by graffiti artist MadC infuses the collection with a dynamic energy—its form inspired by the continuous motion of brushstrokes, translated into sculptural form.

Two designs by Daniel Weil round out the group. The Grand Master Table and Chess Court Table reimagine traditional game tables as graphic, conceptual works of functional art. With a bold design language and crisp symmetry, these pieces honor the formality of chess while stripping it down to geometric essentials.

Each piece in the Eins zu Eins collection is produced in limited edition—with quantities ranging from 10 to 50—and never reissued. Every object comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by its creator, reinforcing a direct connection between maker and collector. Pricing ranges from $6,200 to $38,000 USD, exclusive of tax and shipping.

What unites the collection is a commitment to process over production. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is made without reason. As new designers join the Eins zu Eins fold, the catalog remains small, considered, and uncompromising—proof that in the right hands, furniture can be both a refined object and a lasting expression of design intent.

In an industry too often driven by speed and spectacle, Eins zu Eins reminds us of the enduring power of craft, clarity, and creative trust.
