Tomáš Brzon, born in 1982 in the Czech Republic, has established himself as a prominent figure in contemporary glass art. His journey began at The School of Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov, where he studied under esteemed mentors František Janák and Pavel Trnka. After graduating in 2003, Brzon collaborated with renowned artists such as Martin Rosol, Jan Mareš, and Latchezar Boyadjiev, refining his distinctive style characterized by minimalist geometric forms and masterful manipulation of light.


Brzon’s creations are celebrated for their interplay of matte and polished surfaces, which craft reflections and optical illusions that challenge viewers’ perceptions. Drawing inspiration from everyday forms and images, he emphasizes light as the central element in his work, exploring its interaction with glass to produce captivating visual experiences.


One of Brzon’s notable pieces, “Pink / Green Study,” exemplifies his artistic philosophy. This sculpture, measuring 26.5 cm in height, 45 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth, is crafted from optical glass that has been meticulously cut and polished. The artwork features a harmonious blend of pink and green hues, with its geometric form and surface textures designed to manipulate light, creating dynamic reflections and refractions. This interaction invites viewers to engage with the piece from multiple angles, each offering a unique visual experience.


“Pink / Green Study” is available through London Glassblowing, a leading studio and gallery for contemporary glass art.  The piece is priced at £6,500 and can  be acquired by contacting the gallery directly.


Brzon’s work has been exhibited extensively across Europe and the United States, earning him international acclaim. His sculptures are represented by several galleries, including Ai Bo Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Sandra Ainsley Gallery in Toronto, Canada.
