“Speratus” in Latin means hope and Rolls Royce owner, Garreth Wood and his wife understand what that means for children who suffer. Raising vital funds and having a riotous time beginning in Miami and ending in Ibiza to aid sick children – an epic 3000-mile journey – is what their mission is.
The Woods are taking part in the Gumball 3000 Rally, a star-studded adventure. “If we can go some way to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or their environment, then it has all been worth it," stated the founder of Speratus Group, a Scottish leisure company.
Throughout their journey they will perform 50 Random Acts of Kindness, with Garrett’s company matching £2,000 toward each. The Gumball Foundation then matches the total. Should you spot a “Velvet Phantom” Rolls-Royce decorated in red chrome and black velvet complete with a Scottish flag motif, be sure to salute!
